Daniel A. Kopp represents individuals and families in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Dan believes in a client-focused approach centered on respect and honoring each client’s individual values and goals.
Dan is a passionate and dedicated attorney committed to the relentless pursuit of justice for his clients. Often this involves standing up to insurance companies and large corporations to hold those responsible accountable for all the harm they have caused. As a result, Dan has tried cases in state and federal court and handled appeals for his clients. Dan has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of cases involving defective products, premises liability, dog and other animal attacks, and numerous motor vehicle collisions including car crashes involving semi-trucks and other commercial vehicles.
Background
From a young age, Dan aspired to do something to help people. He grew up watching his father, a minister, and mother, a substitute teacher, go the extra mile for others—including Dan and his four brothers. Dan draws on these experiences when fighting for his clients.
Dan received his undergraduate degree from Coe College, triple majoring in Economics, Business Administration, and Political Science. Dan was a member of the football team at Coe, serving as captain his senior year.
After suffering a traumatic leg injury ending his football career, Dan’s passion to help others led him to law school. Dan received his law degree from the University of Kansas in 2019 with an Advocacy Certificate. He served as Business Manager for the Kansas Law Review and Head Dean’s Fellow. Dan also interned with the Project for Innocence and was an active member of KU Law’s moot court program.
Dan began his legal career in criminal defense. He then moved to a large law firm in the Kansas City metro-area where he pursed personal injury, products liability, and wrongful death cases across the country. Dan joined Dickerson Oxton in 2023.
